Water Meters & Leaks

The City of Pickens has recently replaced all our water meters. The new meters send a radio signal to a receiver in a vehicle and allow water consumption to be read as meter readers drive by the meter.

Consumption & Billing

Your water bill is calculated based on thousands of gallons of water used. The new meters still allow the customer to track consumption. The first white dial from the right is the thousands column. For every value change in that column signifies 1 thousand gallons used.

Leaks

In the center of the new meter is a silver and black wheel. The wheel is a leak indicator. If you have a leak on your side of the meter the wheel will be spinning.
